Ägräs Akvavit Profile
The premium Ägräs Akvavit is lively yet smooth and multidimensional. With a subtle taste of Finnish caraway and abundant flavors of anis, wild angelica and citrus peel as well as a round finish due to oak barrel maturation.
Ägräs Akvavit is distilled in the old ironworks village Fiskars Village in Finland, 88 km west of Helsinki. Our Master Distillery Tomi Purhonen created an akvavit, unlike any other, an akvavit to be enjoyed neat at room temperature. A very elegant aquavit for anybody and everybody, who are looking for luxurious moments.
The ingredients are first macerated for a set period of time to extract the fragrant oils, before the whole batch is distilled. After distillation the akvavit is matured in oak barrels for the round finish and the beautiful, golden color.
Enjoy with fish dishes, as a schnapps at crayfish parties, Easter and Christmas tables or cure your salmon with it. Remember never to freeze it down, because it loses the aromas from the barrel maturation.
The complexity of Ägräs Akvavit makes it a great base for Akvavit cocktails, such as Akvavit Sour or Akvavit Old Fashioned and even to fresh Akvavit Tonics.

3/4 Veen Nordic Tonic Water (or BTW tonic)
Garnish with a lemon zest
The birch extract of Veen Nordic Tonic Water balances the complexity of Ägräs Akvavit perfectly. With BTW tonic, the natural quinine and subtle herbal notes gives a bittersweet sensation.
Ägräs Akvavit Sour

30ml Lemon Juice
20ml Egg White
20ml Simple Syrup (1:1 ratio)
Dry shake, and then shake with ice. Double-Strain, zest with Orange Peel, and finish with a few drops of Vanilla Bitters
